Tyson to Declare for NBA Draft

SEATTLE – Redshirt junior guard Cameron Tyson has announced that he will declare for the 2023 NBA Draft.

"The past two years at Seattle U have been unforgettable," said Tyson. "My family and I are grateful for Coach Vic and the rest of the Seattle U coaching staff for believing in me and allowing me the opportunity to continue to build the brand. I am excited to announce that I will be declaring for the 2023 NBA Draft, as well as maintaining my college eligibility."

The Bothell, Wash., averaged 18.6 points and 4.4 rebounds per game during the 2022-23 season. His 97 total three pointers ranked first among all players in the Western Athletic Conference and is good for 18th in the nation, while his average of 3.23 threes per game is 11th nationally. He finished with 15 20-point games, while also surpassing the 30-point marker twice. He also had 11 games with four or more made threes. Tyson was named to the NABC All-District 6 First Team, as well as to the eight-member All-WAC First Team. He also earned WAC Player of the Week honors once in 2022-23.

"We are extremely excited for Cam," said Head Coach Chris Victor. "This is an amazing opportunity for him and his entire Redhawk family is very proud of him."

In four combined collegiate season at Idaho, Houston and Seattle U, Tyson has amassed 1,563 points, including 343 three pointers, and 373 rebounds. He surpassed the 1,500-point marker for his career at Grand Canyon on Feb. 24 and later tipped the 1,000-point marker in games played at Seattle U in this season's final game on March 9.
